Elizabeth’s sculptures have their roots in work inspired by Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Michael Angelo, Joseph Beuys, Giacometti and Eva Hess to name but a few. Whilst there are obvious associations with the figurative narrative there are strong associations with vessel based work inspired by early utilitarian works.
Elizabeth has long been inspired by the ancient world, in particular the Egyptian, neolithic and Grecian sculptural forms of antiquity, especially those artworks uncovered from archeological discoveries that dramatically show the patination and erosion of time. Her work seeks to capture the essence of life’s spirit and are meant to convey the love, care, protection and inpiration that she endeavours to represent in the physical form of her creations.
