They have been inspired by greek and roman myths and legends that have been created in an abstract and sculptural form. They do not present themselves in the sense of the likeness of self portraits but sleeping heads with a distinguished features. Their distinguishing feature is the big nose. They are one-off hand built coiled pieces that are ‘larger then life’. The whiteness of the clay head acts as a canvas on that creates the patination of colour used by washes of oxides.
